It is from these images that Ascent software can extract information, interpret it and then pass it on to any computer system. This automatic document capture using imaging technology is conducted in two ways. ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) allows Kofax's software to recognize handwritten characters while OCR (Optical Character Recognition) deals with machine print. edit - ltd's imaging software entry enables enormous savings in time and money when entering forms and documents into a computer system. It also reduces human errors to a minimum and thus increases the data quality.
